Tri Carragh Ardmore 11 Year Old Tasting Notes

Nose: The nose bursts with light peat smoke, reminiscent of glowing embers. As the smoke settles, sweet notes emerge: vanilla, lemon, pineapple, and buttery pastries.

Palate: This is a sweet-and-smoky dram with layers that unfold in waves. With water, the pastry notes become more pronounced, revealing even greater complexity. The reduced palate follows the same path - a whisky full of depth and character.

Finish: Long and lingering.

About this Tri Carragh whisky

Tri Carragh presents this bold 11-year-old Ardmore, distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2025 as a single cask release of just 221 bottles. Matured in a second fill ex-Laphroaig barrel, it brings a distinctive twist to Ardmore’s Highland peat style, combining gentle smoke with layers of sweetness. Bottled at natural cask strength (59.8%) with no chill filtration or added colour, this is an authentic, full-flavoured dram.

On the nose, glowing embers of peat drift into vanilla, lemon zest, pineapple, and buttery pastries. The palate is a sweet-and-smoky interplay that unfolds in waves, with pastry notes deepening further when a drop of water is added. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a lasting impression of smoky fruit and soft sweetness.

A superb example of how Ardmore’s character can shine when influenced by an Islay-seasoned cask, this bottling delivers Highland peat with a subtle Islay edge.

The Three Pillars

Tri Carragh

Tri Carragh is Gaelic for ‘three pillars’. It’s a nod and celebration to the three fundamental core ingredients which are used in the creation of whisky. Water, barley and yeast have been used for centuries to produce Scotland’s finest spirit. When put through their paces, left to rest for years in an oak cask, they create a unique liquid, every single time. Independent bottler Tri Carragh select their single cask whiskies in a thoughtful manner, choosing the distillery and spirit which will encourage the most conversation.
