About this Lady of The Glen whisky
This Auchroisk 11 Year Old from Lady of the Glen, founded by Gregor Hannah, is a lively and characterful Speyside single malt that explores a less common style of sherry cask influence.
Distilled on 19 January 2015 and bottled on 20 January 2026, the whisky was initially matured in a hogshead before being finished for over two years in an ex-Manzanilla sherry cask (cask 801525). Manzanilla, a lighter and more coastal style of sherry, is rarely seen in Scotch maturation, and brings a distinctly different profile compared to the richer Oloroso or PX styles.
Auchroisk’s naturally clean, fruity, and slightly waxy spirit provides an excellent foundation for this type of finishing. The Manzanilla cask introduces a nutty sweetness, gentle salinity, and baked fruit character, adding complexity without overwhelming the distillery’s inherent brightness.
The result is a whisky that feels both fresh and layered. Notes of panettone, cinnamon bark, and honeycomb give a warm, softly spiced sweetness, while the underlying structure remains light and approachable. The interplay between orchard fruit, nutty tones, and subtle oak creates a profile that is balanced and quietly distinctive.
Bottled at cask strength (57.9% ABV), with natural colour and without chill filtration, this release retains both texture and intensity while remaining elegant in style. With an outturn of 299 bottles, it offers a rare opportunity to explore Auchroisk through a less conventional cask influence.
A refined and slightly unconventional Speyside malt combining freshness, nutty depth, and gentle spice in a well-judged and rewarding dram.
