About this Ardent Spirits whisky

Ardent Spirits North British 33 Year Old is an elegant example of long-aged Lowland grain whisky, distilled in 1991 and bottled at 44% ABV with natural colour and no chill filtration. Drawn from a single cask and limited to only 182 bottles, this is a beautifully mature release that highlights the refined, creamy texture that makes well-aged North British spirit so distinctive.

The North British Distillery, founded in Edinburgh in 1885, is one of Scotland’s oldest and most respected grain producers. Using maize as its primary cereal, it produces a lighter, more delicate style of grain whisky that ages gracefully over decades - developing layers of vanilla sweetness, gentle oak spice, and soft tropical undertones.

On the nose, this whisky opens with notes of crème brûlée and toasted coconut. The palate follows with rich layers of vanilla custard, caramelised sugar, and warm oak, creating a silky, unctuous mouthfeel. The finish is long and smooth, with lingering sweetness and a hint of coconut cream and soft spice.

This 33-year-old single grain captures the quiet sophistication of time: elegant, balanced, and deeply rewarding.
