About this Fib Whisky
Fib Whisky’s Pictish Beastie Volume III is a bold and imaginative blended Scotch from independent bottler Fib Whisky. The bottle brings together a rare marriage of two single-cask components: 60% Mannochmore single malt (from Speyside) and 40% Cameronbridge single grain (from Fife), matured separately then finished in sherry-influenced hogsheads: the malt in a Fino sherry hogshead and the grain in a PX sherry hogshead. Bottled at 58% ABV with natural colour and without chill filtration, this edition counts 575 bottles worldwide.
On the nose, you’re greeted with warm aromas reminiscent of a French pâtisserie, or perhaps the renowned Scottish bakery Fisher & Donaldson: pecan pies, custard-filled fudge doughnuts, and rich sugary sweetness. The palate is remarkably smooth for its strength, layered with orchard fruits, toffee and milk chocolate in harmonious balance. The finish evokes Curly Wurly nostalgia - long, sticky-sweet and wholly satisfying.
This release demonstrates Fib Whisky’s ethos of transparent provenance and curated innovation; by choosing just two casks and giving them distinct sherry finishes, they create something both unusual and accessible. It’s an ideal dram for enthusiasts seeking a creative but grounded expression that pairs Speyside malt and grain in one bottle.
