Official tasting notes

Nose: Sandalwood, dried tobacco, sun-dried fruits, raisins, and sultanas.

Palate: Dried fruits, rich brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves.

Finish: Rich nuttiness with a lingering, waxy texture.

About this Old Perth release

Old Perth Vintage 2009 is a beautiful balance of 2009 single malt whiskies from three iconic distilleries. When brought together, these three high quality casks become more than the sum of their parts. The three casks in question were:

A Second Fill Oloroso Butt which was a round, meaty, nutty, savoury whisky providing a good base to work with.

A First Fill Oloroso Hogshead, a fruit forward whisky matured in an active first fill oloroso hogshead, offering candied orange peel, sweet marmalade notes.

And a First Fill PX Hogshead, a bolder, nutty whisky with a slight waxiness, matured in active first fill a PX hogshead producing bags and bags of dried fruit and sweetness.

How much is shipping?

Shipping charges are calculated during checkout, depending on where you live and how many bottles you’re buying. It's usually more cost effective to ship two or more bottles, particularly for international orders. The perfect excuse to treat yourself to an extra bottle!

What about taxes?

All alcoholic products sold by TopWhiskies are sold subject to UK alcohol tax, which is already included in the price.

UK sales are subject to VAT (currently 20%), which is included in the price. Sales outside of the UK are not subject to this tax, and international prices do not include it.

We use a specialist US shipper who sorts out US taxes. These costs are factored into the US shipping charges. So shipping may look pricey, but remember it covers your taxes as well, so there'll be no further bills to pay.

For all other territories, including those in Europe, please note: your order could be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in the destination country. All additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient. As customs policies vary widely from country to country, TopWhiskies has no control over these charges, so you should contact your local customs office for further information. If you refuse to pay any import duties and taxes, this could result in the goods being destroyed by customs or being returned back to us - any refund offered would include a deduction of our costs.

Which couriers do you use?

In the UK we use Royal Mail, Parcelforce and APC. US orders are sent via UPS. International orders use FedEx and DHL. Orders are despatched from our UK warehouse Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays.

Carbon neutral?

Yes, all our deliveries are carbon neutral. We work with Planet to estimate the carbon impact of each delivery, and then purchase carbon removal credits to offset the emissions.

Meet the family

The Morrisons

The Morrison's are one of the oldest whisky families in Scotland. The dynasty started in the 18th century when they were grocers. Over the centuries since, they have grown into whisky brokers, blenders, and distillers. Today they are known as Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers and are led by Jamie and Brian Morrison.

Jamie and Brian release whiskies under three brands. Old Perth is their sherried range, and Mac-Talla is their Islay range, and then Carn Mor releases small batch whiskies from a range of distilleries.
