About this Little Brown Dog release
Rally cars and whisky, a tenuous link you say. But it was a scabby old Peugeot 205 rally car, poking out of a shed that started Chris and Andrew’s friendship back in 2007, and a mere 11 years later Little Brown Dog became a thing.
So for their 3rd rally car inspired label they’ve not gone for any famous Subarus or Lancias, but their very own 1993 BMW M3. Quite possibly the cheapest amount you can spend on a car for the greatest amount of fun.
And, it’s now a rally winning car! Not only are Little Brown Dog Scotland’s current independent bottlers of the year, they are also class S3 winners at the McDonald and Munro Speyside Stages Rally 2025.
Now if that isn’t worthy of a celebratory bottling, what is? Bottled to celebrate their return to rallying after an 18 year absence, or because they thought it was an absolute cracker of a single cask Glen Elgin… The Speyside Stages were based in Elgin, so that was a good enough excuse for Andrew and Chris to do another rally label.
First fill oloroso sherry but with American oak rather than more common (to sherry casks) European oak, so the delicate Speyside distillate isn’t overwhelmed by the wood. Beautifully fruity, well balanced and a super interesting herbal note that weaves in and out.
