Official tasting notes

Nose: Creamy-sweet vanilla wafers.

Taste: Desiccated coconut, Kinder Bueno, brown sugar, sugared almonds, lemon curd, nutmeg.

Finish: Sweet, buttery and creamy with hints of toffee popcorn.

Ed's review

Colour: Natural colour, sun-bleached hay. Thick and oily, coating the sides of my glass.

Nose: The crunchy top of a panettone with sugared almonds. Fresh butter-enriched pastries. Candied lemon peel. Vanilla and gentle oak.

Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Sweet and welcoming. Fruit salad with honeydew melon, red grapes, and apple. Vanilla sponge dusted with white icing sugar. There is a bourbon character in the background, together with gentle oak.

Finish: Medium finish. Sweet with fruit and cream. Coconut, vanilla and a dusting of cinnamon.

About Easy Sipper

Keith Bonnington of The Whisky Cellar has selected an 11 year old single grain whisky from North British distillery in Edinburgh for this whisky released under his Easy Sipper range. All of the barrels used in this release are first fill American oak, previously used to age bourbon. The grain whiskies are at least 11 years old. This is a sweet, easy-drinking whisky to kick back and enjoy.

Meet The Founder

Keith Bonnington

Keith Bonnington has over two decades of experience in the whisky industry, including 11 years at Edrington. He was made Keeper of the Quaich in 2013, and founded The Whisky Cellar in 2016.

His main collection of whiskies is indeed called The Whisky Cellar. These are single cask whiskies bottled all natural, having been through careful review by Keith's tasting panel which has an incredible 200 years of experience between them.

Keith also has a few other excellent labels. There's Brig O'Perth, a historic brand producing highland style blended malts. Easy Sipper, a range of easy-drinking single grain whiskies. And Pintail, a vintage collection of diverse spirits including whisky, sherry and port.
