Tamnavulin 10 Year Old Tasting Notes

Colour: Mustard yellow.

Nose: There is something from childhood in this glass and depending on which part on the world that you live in it will relate to a different sweet. For us in Scotland there is a “dolly mixture” sweetness mixed with orchard fruits and a touch of mango without the overripe sweetness. This is not just a Bourbon nose but it carries oak and Frankincense, lightly perfumed and delicate. One that you could nose all day long!

Palate: This is an absolute joy! Soft and warm. The use of a refill bourbon in this dram really allows the spirit to tell its story without being stifled by the overbearing oak. Caramel and golden syrup, American cream soda with a little something that almost seems to fizz on the tongue. All you would look for in a Bourbon finish is there and then some but the key to this stunner is balance. It way out punches its timid ten year status with a delightful performance on the palate.

Finish: Let’s just say that I hope your not planning anything else soon as this beauty is going to be with you for a good wee while. Long and sweet, building to a gentle heat that fills the mouth, it dances over the taste buds, pulling and tickling as it goes and just when you think it’s had enough, back it comes to do it all over again, leaving effervescence on the tongue. What a dram!

How much is shipping?

Shipping charges are calculated during checkout, depending on where you live and how many bottles you’re buying. It's usually more cost effective to ship two or more bottles, particularly for international orders. The perfect excuse to treat yourself to an extra bottle!

What about taxes?

All alcoholic products sold by TopWhiskies are sold subject to UK alcohol tax, which is already included in the price.

UK sales are subject to VAT (currently 20%), which is included in the price. Sales outside of the UK are not subject to this tax, and international prices do not include it.

We use a specialist US shipper who sorts out US taxes. These costs are factored into the US shipping charges. So shipping may look pricey, but remember it covers your taxes as well, so there'll be no further bills to pay.

For all other territories, including those in Europe, please note: your order could be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in the destination country. All additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient. As customs policies vary widely from country to country, TopWhiskies has no control over these charges, so you should contact your local customs office for further information. Which couriers do you use?

In the UK we use Royal Mail, Parcelforce and APC. US orders are sent via UPS. International orders use FedEx and DHL. Orders are despatched from our UK warehouse Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays.

Carbon neutral?

Yes, all our deliveries are carbon neutral. We work with Planet to estimate the carbon impact of each delivery, and then purchase carbon removal credits to offset the emissions.

Meet The Founders

Viktorija and Kenny MacDonald

Viktorija was the first female independent bottler to start her business from scratch. In 2013 she founded a company, which started as an export agency helping independent family-owned Scottish distilleries to tap into international markets. Viktorija has a wide background in whisky. She worked on-trade in Oran Mor whisky bar in Glasgow. Then she moved onto working in retail at the Good Spirits Co, where she specialised in whisky.

Having whisky at heart stemming from his Grandfather Alex, who for many years served as head foreman at Dumbarton Distillery, Kenny has spent the last decade representing some of Scotland’s most iconic distilleries at whisky festivals around the world. Today Kenny brings a massive wealth of experience to his own brand putting the name of Dràm Mòr to the forefront of whisky enthusiast’s minds with the perfect blend of education and entertainment as he weaves an incredible knack for storytelling with an undying passion for whisky.
